We are a little behind on updates... so here's the skinny on Iraq...

We spent our time with these girls (on the right) and were able to encourage them and pray for them and with them.

Our friend Oscar showed us where he used to live. Saddam Hussein's troops came in and destroyed EVERYTHING! There was nothing left but rocks and foundations. He had such a good attitude considering what he has been through.

We got invited to a Kurdish wedding, oh man I felt bad for the girls in their costumes. Oh and this is how everyone poses for photos -- no smile allowed. It really gives the appearance that you are having a blast!

They do this funny dance where everyone lines up around the whole room and locks pinky fingers with the person next to them. Its good times... except... it continues for like an hour.

I really didn't want to do it but they insisted. In case you weren't sure, I'm the tall, goofy guy dressed like a mormon, minus the backpack.

We got to meet up with our school leader, Dan, once again. Here he is GI'd out.

Our time in Iraq was awesome. We got to make a few great relationships with people and were able to get a sense of what it feels like for people who live their whole lives there. The separation between men and women was especially difficult for Bethany and I but it made us really appreciate the freedom we have in America. Pray for these people and the workers who are there demonstrating the love of the Father!
Well, we are now in Antakya (the ancient city of Antioch) more to come soon. Love you guys!

God is so awesome! I know that He is using you in ways that are greater than what you can comprehend. You will never fully understand exactly what He is accomplishing right now. Be encouraged as we are encouraged by you, and remember that your faithful obedience is an advance on Satan's gates and the victory is already won in Jesus! The Lord has faithfully reminded us to pray for you each day so we believe God is closely watching over you (like a chess player carefully maneuvers his key pieces). We love you, be safe, be bold! ~ Ivan and Chrissy
