We are going on outreach to ..?

Feb DTS has begun!!

FEB DTS Has begun! And Luke and I are leading an outreach to Barcelona, Spain! Luke and I are so excited for this DTS that is going on right now. In our 3 years being here we haven't seen a more hungry group for God!  When sharing testimonies in the first few days we began to get a real clear picture that these students come from very broken homes. BUT the coolest thing is that broken people realize their need for God. One guy in particular has the CRAZIEST story: He was basically a heroin and meth addict for years living homeless under bridges in Los Angeles, was in and out of school his whole life, overdosed on dugs multiple times etc…  Every time he took a lot of drugs he would pray that God would kill him and take his life but each time he would wake up alive. One time he got in car accident where he ended up in the middle of the street fully okay and his car was wrapped around a tree. The cops came and arrested him cuz he was high and drunk and said, "Boy you are going to jail tonight!" On the way to the jail the cop "all of a sudden" had a change of heart and said, "You know… for some reason I don't feel like doing this tonight." and TAKES HIM HOME!! What!! The list goes on and on but the coolest thing is that he is here and it's NO MISTAKE! Last week he stood up in front of us all and said, "Usually I judge Christians and hate being in Christian groups etc but I don't know what to do with you guys because I have never felt so much love in my life and to be honest my brain doesn't know how to deal with all of this but all I know is that it feels right!" #BOOM!! That's right! Anyway, Luke and I are staffing this school and not leading. One of our roles as DTS directors is to raise up young leaders and give them a chance to lead DTS schools. Nicky was a girl that did her DTS here 2 years ago and came back on staff. We saw so much growth and maturity in her that we felt like she would TOTALLY be able to lead a DTS... so we are staffing under her this school. AND THAT MEANS WE ARE TAKING AN OUTREACH!!! Wow it's been 2 years since we've taken a DTS outreach team for 2 months to another part of the world! We are so excited.  Revealing outreach teams is a lot of fun!! Each student gets blindfolded and a symbol is written on their foreheads that corresponds to the outreach team they  are going on. We count to 3 and they rip off their blindfolds and run around looking for their team members! Luke and I were so excited to meet our outreach team! We have 9 students (5 girls and 4 guys) who are going to ROCK BARCELONA, SPAIN!! Why Barcelona? When we were in Europe last year God started to be sneaky. =) We thought we were there to see some good friends get married, see a few old DTS students and have our wedding anniversary … but GOD HAD BIGGER PLANS. When we were up in Norway we ran into a lady named Cathy Harrison who used to live in Australia but now lives in Barcelona with her husband doing missions. She was at one of the weddings were were at and while I was talking to her God started speaking to my spirit about Barcelona. I kept having this very faint thought running over and over in the back of my head, "lead an outreach team to Barcelona"… And I pushed it away thinking that it was just me. But it kept coming back more and more. I was like, "God there is no way we could take a team to Barcelona! It's so expensive in Europe and there's just no way!"… WELL, the week we got back to the Sunny Coast God started to confirm over and over and OVER that Barcelona was the place for us to go. That week I got an email from an old student saying how her and her husband want to come and staff here on the Sunny Coast…and that they eventually want to end up in Barcelona! What! Random.. Okay THEN two of our good friends who staffed DTSs in Kona Hawaii just MOVED to Barcelona and are doing missions there! Then one girl who used to be a student here at our base is FROM Barcelona and will be there when we come! THEN our neighbor Jason who we have become good friends with will be in Barcelona visiting with his friend and son at the same time we are there… Then another friend I just met at church last night will be in Barcelona when we are there… THEN.. ya it keeps going.. our speakers for last weeks lectures start sharing their story on how they met and they did their DTS outreach to BARCELONA!!! OKAY GOD I GET IT!!! You want us to go. SO needless to say we KNOW God is saying to go, so we don't ask anymore questions.. we just obey. He will provide the money and all that is needed because this is His idea and we just get to be a part of it. Anyway, there is way more to say but I'll do that in another update later on. But we are so excited and feel a very deep anticipation that God is doing something huge in Europe right now. People are SO HUNGRY FOR GOD's presence and NOT religion that the harvest is ready and the time is NOW! So we are going! Please please pray for me and Luke! We KNOW that people are going to get saved on this outreach and the enemy hates that so can you pray a covering over our marriage and our team RIGHT NOW during this lecture phase as we prepare to go there?
